Please watch the movie if you can, it's great.I read Tokyo Revengers for the toxic masculinity and social determinism. I don't think Wakui ever meant to do a very deep criticism or story, but I enjoy reading more into it.I don't enjoy Takemichi's character in the manga. (I like him in the movie because he was rewritten). He is frustrating more than endearing to me and I complain about him sometimes.Even if they are cute, I'm disappointed with the female characters lack of personal agenda.I believe the story should have ended after Tenjiku. I'm curious about the ending, but I don't think I will like it. I love villains more than heroes thus I joke a lot about their deaths or defeats.
